Secara umum Pengertian Tax Amnesty adalah kebijakan pemerintah yang diberikan kepada pembayar pajak tentang forgiveness / pengampunan pajak, dan sebagai ganti atas pengampunan tersebut pembayar pajak diharuskan untuk membayar uang tebusan. Mendapatkan pengampunan pajak artinya data laporan yang ada selama ini dianggap telah diputihkan dan atas beberapa utang pajak juga dihapuskan. Pajak Pertambahan Nilai (PPN) adalah pajak yang dikenakan atas setiap pertambahan nilai dari barang atau jasa dalam peredarannya dari produsen ke konsumen.
